San Pedro High School held its Graduation Mass and Commencement Exercises on Saturday, June 12, at the R. Angel Nuñez Auditorium where 50 graduates were in attendance to receive their diplomas. It was a delightful program with awards and acknowledgements of special recognitions marking the culmination of four years of studies for a very proud group of seniors of San Pedro High.
Vice principal, Mrs. Conchita Flota presented awards and recognitions to deserving students which included Miss Jing Han, Salutatorian and Student of the Year. Between Principal Vasquez and Guest Speaker Mr. Angel Nunez, more honorable mentions were made as were Raquel Badillo, Valedictorian, Vicky Balam and Jing Han the Math Olympiad National Champions for 2010, Gaby Miranda National Champion for Food and Nutrition Competition and Caribbean Regional Champion, and some athletes and personalities among others.
Guest speaker Mr. Angel Nunez gave an enlightening address in which he celebrated the teachers, parents, San Pedro High, the community, and finally the graduates themselves. Other highlights of the evening’s ceremony were the candlelight ceremony presented by Ricky Luna and Florangely Graniel, the release of freedom balloons by the graduates, a farewell song by the Class of 2010, and a touching personal vote of thanks by Allison Nunez and Gaby Miranda. Of course adding some class to the ceremony was San Pedro High School choir under the direction of Natalie Arceo, and a brilliant mistress of ceremonies, Vicky Balam. Ambergris Today wishes all graduates all the best in their future endeavors.
