Belizean Sings on American Idol

If you have been watching, or hearing about, the current episode of American Idol this past week you would probably know that 12 women and 12 men have made it into the finals. That is from a cast of thousands.

One of these 12 women is a 16 year old lady by the name of Lisa Tucker, who is the daughter of Belizean born Eleanor Gabourel from Melinda Road in Dangriga. Lisa’s father is an American name Tucker. Lisa was born in the U.S. where she lives in Anaheim, California.

Lisa Tucker started singing in front of big groups when she was 8 years old, but was singing since the age of 2. She is a songwriter with formal singing training and also plays the piano, guitar and is learning the drums. Lisa stated that if she does not make it on American Idol she will start college and continue to pursue her singing career. Her personal goal in life is to be an entertainer

. Starting next week viewers in the U.S. only, (we can only watch here in San Pedro) will be able to vote for their favorite American Idol from these 24 finalists; maybe even helping Lisa stay in the competition. Watch for Lisa Tucker, she is fabulous, she is of Belizean Heritage.

The American Idol competition started Tuesday, February 21, 2006, were the top 12 girls competed. The boy’s competition was on Wednesday, February 22 and the results show will be on tonight, Thursday, February 23. This is when they eliminate contestants. American Idol airs on FOX (local channel 15) at 7:00p.m.
