Carnaval 2006 lived up to its theme of “Musica, Alegria y Color” and nowhere else was this more obvious than with Flora’s Carnaval Group.
For the third consecutive year, this group of Carnaval enthusiasts took to the streets to bring joy and laughter to the residents and tourists of “La Isla Bonita.” Joining forces with this group was The San Pedro Airline – Tropic Air who sponsored this year’s Carnaval group with the hopes of encouraging other businesses to also get involved and thus making Carnaval a bigger and better celebration.
During Carnaval 2006, Mrs. Flora’s group depicted three themes: Tourists, La Campaña de Don Juan Carnaval, and Fishermen. For their dedication and lively spirit, this group was awarded first prize by the San Pedro Town Council. During the three days of dancing and the prize awarded by the Council, Flora’s group managed to raise $3,450.00 for charity. The money was distributed to seven (7) individuals of San Pedro to be used for medical expenses and/or expenses incurred by sickness.
Through this medium, Mrs. Flora’s group would like to publicly thank Tropic Air, the San Pedro Town Council, the musicians and dancers, and the entire community of San Pedro for their support and look forward to entertaining San Pedro during Carnaval 2007. – Press Release – Flora’s Carnaval Group – March 15, 2006 –
