In an attempt to help curb the increase in crime on the island, the San Pedro Business Association (SPBA) raised nearly $40,000Bze to equip the San Pedro Police Department with a new police patrol boat.
On Friday, February 15, the SPBA presented the San Pedro Police with a new boat. The vessel was donated by Captain Morgan’s Retreat and all repairs and equipment, including radar, was paid for by the SPBA. Some of the funds raised also went to providing the Belize Defense Force with accommodations and food while they were patrolling the island during the Christmas and New Year time.
