PM Musa Campaigns with PUP 7

Belize’s Prime Minister Rt. Honorable Said Musa visited San Pedro last week Thursday for a whole day of campaigning alongside the 7 PUP candidates running for the March 2006 Town Council elections. Rain poured down on the island during the entire day Thursday, but it did not prevent or hamper the plans of the PUP team, led by the Prime Minister on their visits to various schools and neighborhoods in and around San Pedro.

MusaDuring the morning, Prime Minister Musa visited St. Peter’s Elementary, Maestro Reyes School of Knowledge, Isla Bonita Elementary, New Horizon’s Academy, San Pedro R.C. School, and the San Pedro Police Station. In the afternoon, the PM and PUP 7 visited the DFC and San Pedrito neighborhood areas, where Musa listened to and addressed the concerns of the area residents. Folks living in the DFC subdivision were promised good news by the Prime Minister, who told them to expect lower monthly house payments for their DFC housing. PM Musa was also able to do a live interview with Reef Radio and Channel 7 while in San Pedro.

If any good thing came out of the steady rains affecting the area at the time of the PM’s visit was the fact that PM Musa was able to see firsthand how much the streets are affected by mud and potholes during the times of rain. Musa promised to help the town with further cobblestoning of the streets. After a very long and wet day of campaigning, Belize’s Prime Minister took the last flight to Belize City.
