Golf Cart Accident Lands Man at KHMH
Raul Lara, 44 year old Belizean taxi man of San Pedrito Area, reported that on Sunday, January 13, around 6:00 p.m. while driving his Toyota Previa Van License plate BZ – D – 6277 on Seagrape Drive towards Marina’s Store he saw a cream colored golf cart heading towards him in the opposite direction. The golf cart then swerved to the side and collided head on with the taxi van.
One Glenford Alex Bodden, 33 year old Belizean bartender of DFC Area, was transported to the San Pedro Poly Clinic II where he was treated for injuries to his head and chest area and due to the severity of his injuries. He was then transported by plane to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City in a serious but stable condition. The matter is still under investigation.
Woman Runs Bill of $1,143.40 at Hotel
Edward Edwin Robinson, 59 year old American businessman of Coconuts Caribbean Hotel, reported to Police that on Monday, January 7 a Creole female, Gina Gordon Coronquie checked in at the establishment and stayed in room 6 until Saturday, January 12.
Between those days Gina consumed a total of $1,143.40 in room services, restaurant and bar services and on Saturday, Gina approached the owner and informed him that she works at the US Embassy and would help him get his lost passport for $300 which he had lost and requested for both the money and his American birth certificate. Upon checking out she presented an Atlantic Bank Credit Card which was not valid and had no money to clear the bills.
Gina, a 26 year old unemployed Belizean of #42 Rivero Street, Belize City, was detained and charged for obtaining service by deception and obtaining property by deception. She was taken to court and was fined $2,000 and $1,400 to compensate Mr. Robinson.
