On Wednesday, December 1, the entire world will observe World AIDS Day. This particular day has been set aside to emphasize awareness about this epidemic that is plaguing the world over. Belize joins the rest of the world in bringing awareness during this day as well.
And with that in mind that the San Pedro AIDS Commission is inviting the general public and businesses, along with their staff, to join in the yearly AIDS Solidarity Walk on Wednesday, December 1.
“We are hoping that through this walk we show the community that AIDS is everybody’s concern so everyone should be involved,” stated Felix Ayuso, President of San Pedro AIDS Commission.
Business owners are asked if they cannot attend to kindly send a representative to the walk. The group will gather at 5:00 p.m. at the Central Park for the march through the main streets of San Pedro Town.
Prior to World AIDS Day, the San Pedro AIDS Commission is also holding an all day AIDS Fair at Central Park on Sunday, November 28. Free Rapid Testing will be done all day. HIV/AIDS information will be distributed as well as food and drinks will be on sale. Games for kids and live music will also entertain.
