The big and exciting rumor around San Pedro Town is that the former Nancy’s Store on Black Coral Street is being demolished for a spanking and much needed parking lot for Atlantic Bank Customers. But here is where the euphoria ends because we are still not sure.
Ambergris Today contacted high ranking officials of Atlantic Bank Limited in Belize City and we received the information that for the moment the lot is only being cleared but there are no definite plans for the lot.
We would certainly hope that the high enthusiasm the public has shown for a parking lot is taken into consideration by bank administration. This will bring much relief for bank employees, customers and island residents. But for the mean time it’s great to see a derelict building at least cleared off for safety and aesthetic reasons.
