The first ever San Pedro Softball Cup took place this past weekend at the San Pedro Old Football Field from Friday, April 29 to Sunday, May 1. Participating schools for the event were National Champions- Belmopan Comprehensive School, National Sub- Champions Independence High School and hosts San Pedro High School.
The following is a list of the games played and the results of each:
Game 1 – Belmopan Comprehensive School defeated San Pedro High 14 to 9
Game 2 – Independence High School defeated San Pedro High 15 to 14
Game 3 – Independence High School defeated Belmopan Comprehensive 5 to 2
Game 4 – Belmopan Comprehensive School defeated San Pedro High 18 to 8
Game 5 – Independence High School edged San Pedro High 10 to 9
Game 6 – Belmopan Comprehensive School defeated Independence High 11 to 4
At the end of the Double Round Robin Belmopan Comprehensive School was the number one seed (ranking) automatically making it to the Championship game. In the semi-final game the Number 3 seed San Pedro High School edged the Number 2 seed Independence High School 9 to 8 to make it to the Grand Finals! The championship game was played by Belmopan Comprehensive School and San Pedro High in which Belmopan Comprehensive won with a score of 12 to 3.

MVP – Akeem Watters of Belmopan Comprehensive
Most Home runs – Akeem Watters of Belmopan Comprehensive
Best Outfield – Dwayne Rudon of IHS
Best Infield – Alex Roache of SPHS
Most RBI’s – Charles Richards of SPHS
Best Batting Average – Charles Richards of SPHS
A student/athlete scholarship was also awarded to Mr. Charles Richards for his senior year at San Pedro High School. Charles plays Softball, Basketball, Volleyball and is a Track & Field athlete at the San Pedro High School.
