San Pedro Junior College Graduates 20

A black carpet, black and green decorations, 200 invited guests, 20 graduates in black gowns and caps, and the music of Pomp and Circumstances – this was the setting at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium on Sunday evening, June 2, 2011, when San Pedro Junior College celebrated its tenth graduation exercises.

A very warm and cordial welcome was delivered by honor roll student and Salutatorian Miss Magdalena Elenor Sosa after the invocation of Fr. Arturo Añonuevo. Dean of SPJC, Mr. Gustavo Ellis delivered the Dean’s report highlighting the accomplishments of the past ten years and concentrating in giving special thanks to Hon. Manuel Heredia for his invaluable assistance in providing the funding for the Junior College’s new building.

Chairlady of the Board of governors, Mrs. Martha Guerrero acting as guest speaker, applauded words of wisdom of two giants in education, Hon. Patrick Faber and President of SPJC Mr. Angel Nuñez, who have set the pace for relevant and efficient education and opened the opportunities to young people in San Pedro.

The Valedictory address was given by top student graduate Fabiola Gongora. The guests also listened to a report by Assistant Dean Mr. Froyland Gilharry, a song by the graduates, and the vote of thanks by honor roll student Miss Rebecca Cucul. The graduation ceremony was held under the patronage of Mrs. Conchita Flota, Vice Principal of SPHS and Mr. Narciso Flota, who delivered Associate Degree Diplomas in three disciplines – Business Administration Majoring in Accounting, Associate Degree in Business Management, and Associate Degree in Tourism Management.
