On Saturday, August 13, the lovely contestants visited the Palacio Municipal of Chetumal where they met with the Mayor – Lic. Carlos Mario Villanueva Tenorio. Mr. Tenorio welcomed the delegates to Chetumal and presented them with the official pin of Chetumal and gave all of them a gift souvenir. During their visit Mr. Tenorio talked with the girls about the importance of making stronger ties with San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, conservation of natural resources, amongst other topics.
The Director of Tourism, Mr. Jorge Alberto Rejon Chan, accompanied the delegates to a fun visit to Chetumal’s BioUniverZoo. At the zoo the girls walked through live rich flora and fauna and had the opportunity to see black jaguars, monkeys, crocodiles, parrots, lizards and snakes to name a few.
