Belize Independence Fever: Carnival 2011

September Celebrations heats up in Belize City with its Carnival Road March under an unbelievably hot sun. Carnival is Belize City’s biggest celebration during the country’s patriotic festivities. San Pedro Parades on Independence Day, September 21, 2011.

Ambergris Today did not make it to the Carnival Road March that took place this past weekend, Saturday, September 3, but we promise to cover the event next year as the colors and excitement through the images look amazing. The National Celebrations Commission is pleased to announce the official winners in this year’s Carnival Road March 2011. The first, second and third place winners in each respective category are as follows:

Juniors:
1st: Mahogany Masqueraders
2nd: Pickstock Carnival Band
3rd: Black Pearl

Seniors:
1st: Southside Masqueraders
2nd: Mother Nature’s Creation
3rd: Soca Warriors

NOTE: Ernestine Carballo is also the Winner for the Carnival Road March 2011: 2 years in a row. She is also the Winner for the Carnival Song Competition within the National Song Competition.
