School Teacher Gets Heroic Tattoo

Tattooing has been practiced for centuries worldwide. In many parts of the world it is traditionally found in faces or hands especially in tribal groups.  Despite some taboos surrounding tattooing, the art continues to be popular in many parts of the world.

Today, people choose to be tattooed for cosmetic, sentimental/memorial, religious and magical reasons to symbolize their belonging or identification with a particular group. Well in Belize City a school teacher took body art to another level, she placed a large tattoo of National Hero – Hon. George Price on her arm.

The teacher who wished to remain anonymous told 7 News Belize (Belize City Media) that her tattoo keeps her motivated and committed. But why would she want a tattoo of Mr. Price? Her answer was quite simple, as a child she knew Mr. Price and for her he is a great motivator.

Although many have mentioned that they would put a tattoo in honor of Mr. Price, this school teacher believes that she is the first one to do it and does not regret having done so. She says she specifically chose the image of Price depicting his face from the 1970’s and early 80’s when she says he was at the height of his powers.
