The entire country started buzzing about ABC’s The Bachelor after Ambergris Today broke the news and was able to take pictures of the cast and crew arriving in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye to film for a few days in La Isla Bonita. Soon, news about the new Bachelor Ben Flajnik in Belize went international as various websites and blogs spread the word from Ambergris Today.
We were able to obtain a few more details about the filming that took place in San Pedro, Belize. A couple days later, our neighboring island of Caye Caulker was buzzing with news that the Bachelor and film crew were to visit for one of Ben’s dates.
The crew filmed all over the island of Caye Caulker, from the famous split to even the basket ball court, according to the Caye Caulker Chronicles. Ben’s dates in Caye Caulker included picking up one of the ladies at the airport, bike rides and strolls around town, dinner and a nighttime shoot at The Lazy Lizard/The Split where the Bachelor and his bevy of beauties partied the night away.
“Many of our favorite locals have been captured on film as ‘The Bachelor’ and his un-identified ‘one-on-one date’ walked on Font Street during yesterday,” posted the Caye Caulker Chronicles.
Other exotic places where dates took place included Rojo Lounge on Ambergris Caye, the Great Blue Hole offshore Belize, helicopter rides to the Maya Ruins of Altun Ha and Lamanai, a pool party and a romantic dinner on the beach at Belizean Coves/Coco Beach where they were filming in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. Word is that the Rose (elimination) Ceremony took place at the Altun Ha Maya Ruins deep inside the rainforest of Belize. WOW!
We are happy that Belize will once get much publicity from The Bachelor on ABC with is scheduled to premier on January 2, 2012. The show is really big and generates from 10 to 20 million viewers per week in the United States alone. It’s a great opportunity for all of us and we will surely be watching along with the rest of the world as they see The Bachelor tour Belize.
