The red light went on as Ambergris Today got hold of news that the San Pedro Police Department was heading to the north part of the island by the Bacalar Chico National Reserve, yesterday November 1, 2011, to investigate rumors that a dead body was found in the area.
Following reports made to the San Pedro Police Department, investigating and forensic officers set out to the northernmost tip of the island to conduct a search. The investigation took president over the SP Police priorities as the family of Evril McCauley filed a missing persons report to the police in San Pedro after his disappearance 18 days ago.
It has been 18 days since Evril McCauley was last seen by his common law wife on October 14, 2011. According to reports, Evril and friends got on their boat and took a trip to the north side of the island. But the island is filled with rumors that McCauley was killed while going on a drug mission. Belize City media state that there are reports that he had gone up north with a washed up shipment of cocaine – and may have been killed while trying to sell it. That is just a report that’s been going around the island – but it is one that has been communicated to his family.
San Pedro Police conducted the search north of the island as far as Bacalar Chico Marine Reserve because it is known that McCauley frequents the area on fishing trips. According to Officer commanding San Pedro Dennis Arnold, while five persons have been detained for questioning, SP Police still have no leads or clues as to the whereabouts of McCauley.
McCauley’s family fears the worst and is seeking closure. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Evril McCauley is asked to call the San Pedro Police station at 226-2022 or crime stoppers at 0-800-922-8477.
Official Police Report of Missing Person
On 28th October, 2011 *Britney GILLETT*, domestic of Boca Del Rio area, San Pedro Town visited the station and reported that her common-law-husband namely *Ervin McCally* also known as *Akeem Harris, AKA “PECANS* left along with one Eric Swan and others en route to the north side of San Pedro Town on a white skiff named “Jessica” for fishing on Friday 14th October, 2011 about 7:00am and haven’t been seen or heard from since.
Ervin McCally is of fair complexion, about 5ft 6in in height, brown eyes, slim built, weighs about 130lbs and brown hair. He has a tattoo of a skull on his left chest, a cross on his left hand, a skull tattoo to his back and has his daughter name “TAMILLI” tattoo on his left side of his neck. He also has a large birth mark on his left side on the hip area.
He was last seen wearing a black shirt with a ¾ brown Dickie’s pants and bare feet. Persons wanted for questioning are: (1) Eric Swan, (2) Rolando Espat Jr. AKA “Rolito”, (3) Andrew Swan and one Alex. Police investigation continues.
