Major crimes in San Pedro have been on the low for the most part but unfortunately this past weekend San Pedro Police received a call about an apparent suicide. SP Police visited the Otto Rodriguez Poly Clinic where they found the lifeless body of a Hispanic female.
The doctor at the poly clinic pronounced the person dead at 5:00 p.m., the body was identified to be that of Maria Posadas, 42-year-old, Salvadoran domestic worker of Boca del Rio Area.
Investigations revealed that the woman was under the influence of alcohol and that she had been involved in an argument with her common-law-husband. Reports indicate that after the argument Maria proceeded to go to her room alone and 30 minutes later her common-law-husband found her in a sitting position facing north with a thin nylon rope around her neck.
