Belizean-American Soccer Player Donates to Sport Council

Sports Councilor Gaby Nuñez graciously accepted a kind donation of sports equipment presented to him by Belizean-American Timothy Paz. Paz and his family handed over the sports equipment on Thursday, August 16, 2012, in front of the BTB Office in San Pedro.

“I am very grateful to Timothy and his family for this kind donation,” stated Councilor Gaby Nuñez. “These sports jerseys, tennis shoes and other equipment will be used for the summer soccer camp that is presently underway and for other sports activities in the near future.”

“I have always brought down sports equipment with me when I come down for vacation to visit my family and friends,” stated Timothy to Ambergris Today. “My first donation was to the San Pedro RC School and I have done other small donations to children in the island. I play soccer back home and we get new uniforms every three years so I had asked my coach, Robert Briones, what he does with the old ones and he told me he gives it away to charity, so I asked him for them and brought them to the island.”

Sports enthusiast, Timothy Paz explained to Ambergris Today that this is his fifth time donating sports equipment to children on the island and is looking forward to making more donations in the future. Timothy is a 16-year-old soccer player for his school team, Norwich Free Academy Soccer Team in Connecticut, USA.
