San Pedro High Evening Division Opening

It is now official; San Pedro High School will be operating an evening division to provide Continued Adult Education.  This is as a result of the Ministry of Education official closure of St. Peter’s College that was offering these educational services for over ten years in San Pedro.

The New Board of Directors of San Pedro high explained that it is the principle of the Ministry of Education to provide universal access to education and with the closure of St. Peter’s the Ministry solicited San Pedro High to kindly pick up the slack. The Board of Directors under its new Chairperson, Mrs. Marina Kay, accepted to undertake the challenge and have now announced to all stakeholders and interested parties that applications and registrations are ongoing as of Thursday, August 30 to September 7.

San Pedro High School Principal, Mr. Emil Vasquez, has confirmed that he will be lending all energies and resources to facilitate an easy transition of past students and to assist in making the San Pedro High Evening Division as success. The appointed administrator is Mr. Paul Kelly, Science teacher at SPHS, explained the core curriculum to include mathematics, English, social studies, Life Skills, Spanish and science. In Form Two, students will take EPDM which is typing on computers. The junior and senior years will see the inclusion of classes in Tourism, Principles of Accounts, and Computers. Classes are to run from 6p.m. to 10:00p.m. and up to 10:40on certain days.

Therefore the invitation is out for past students, new comers to San Pedro who could not get enrolled in the day division or simply any person wishing to pursue a high school equivalency diploma to enlist in the Evening Division due to commence on September 14.
