Retired US Citizen Donates Truck to Town Council

The San Pedro Town Council has been on a working streak for the betterment of the island. The fixture of the roads has been one of the biggest projects that they have been working on and the beautification of the island is top priority. But as it has been mentioned before, the Town Council lacks equipment for carrying out these projects diligently and in a fast and effective manner. The Belize Ministry of Works has lent the San Pedro Town Council equipment for the road fixtures and any donation of equipment to the island is always welcomed.

On Wednesday, September 26, 2012, the San Pedro Town Council received a kind donation from a retired US citizen who has chosen our beautiful Isla Bonita to be his home. Mr. John Roberts moved to the island and got permission to ship in his GMC – C6000 Moving Truck with all his furniture and belongings.

Mr. Roberts was kind enough to donate the truck to the Town Council and presented it to Councilor Kenrick Brackett who was very happy to receive the keys for the truck on behalf of San Pedro Town.

“We are very grateful to Mr. Roberts and his wife Milly for this kind donation,” commented Brackett. “The truck will be put in great use as the container it currently holds will be removed and the truck will be converted into a dump truck.”
