There is no place like Happy Belize and for these reasons and more, the World Happiness Report has put Belize in fourth place in their “World’s Happiest Countries” list.
World’s Happiest Countries – Two major reports published this year rank the world’s happiest countries and offer travelers some winningly convivial destinations. The World Happiness Report — commissioned by the United Nations — offers a snapshot of the state of happiness in today’s world. Topping that list was Denmark 1st, Finland 2nd, Norway 3rd
The Happy Planet Index Report measures how countries balance personal well-being, environmental impact, and life expectancy. Plan your next trip right and the happiness just might rub off on you. This is where Belize placed fourth just behind Costa Rica 1st, Vietnam 2nd, Colombia 3rd
The report described Belize as: “A history of peace, impressive cultural diversity, and the world’s second-longest barrier reef. Belize’s place near the top of the index seems natural to many who’ve visited the small Central American country. And for U.S. travelers, the happiness needs no translation, since English is the official language in Belize.”

Here are some reasons why we think Belize is indeed one of the Happiest Places in the World:
There are many reasons why Belize can be considered a happy place. Healthy living with a healthy lifestyle and healthy diet certainly contribute to a low in rate of serious sicknesses and epidemics. This in itself contributes to longevity. Certainly a happy place is one with very little stress in everyday living. Belizeans seldom deal with mortgages in the millions which certainly have its due amount of stress.
We can easily also state that Belizeans enjoy a lot of quality family time together. We have three daily meals together, as frequently as possible, because we have been cultured to stick together as a family unit, sharing love, laughter and tears.
Belizeans also enjoy a very carefree life where children can play games on the street, enjoy a family gathering right in the front yard, or walk over to the beach to enjoy leisurely relaxation. Though there is some poverty in Belize, there are no known cases of death due to starvation or communities undergoing extreme hardships.
Another reason why Belize is a happy place is that our people love to “celebrate”. Any good excuse is worth of a party, parade, a dance, an outing, or gathering to celebrate an event. All of this is probably due to the fact that Belize is small enough for people to know one other and we deal with people as individuals and persons, not as numbers.
