Canada has looked to places like the U.S. and Ireland to fill jobs in the energy, mining, and agriculture sectors–booming, at least until recently, because of strong demand from China and other emerging economies. Now, there’s another place Canadian executives are targeting: Belize.
Actyle Group, a Saskatchewan-based recruitment firm, is seeking to attract over 100 English-speaking “young adults” with skills in the hospitality industry to join McDonald’s Canada, the affiliate of U.S.-based fast-food restaurant operator McDonald’s Corp.
The jobs could “lead to eventual (Canadian) citizenship and workforce advancement,” Actyl said in a release. And for successful candidates, McDonald’s Canada will also help with relocation and flight expenses, the recruitment firm said.
“We are looking to find some talented individuals who know what it takes to offer great customers service, hard work, day in and day out,” Actyl’s managing director, Adrian Schulz, said in its release. “We know that Belize has the people we are looking for when it comes to this need.”
A McDonald’s Canada representative said several of its independent franchise owners in western Canada are behind the recruitment drive. They are looking for front-line workers and restaurant managers, the representative said.
Actyl said it’s also seeking welders, ironworkers, heavy-duty mechanics, fabricators, machinists and commercial steel framers to fill spots in Western Canada. Actyl Group said it will hold interview sessions at the Radisson Hotel in Belize City in December5, 6 and 7. Click Here for More Information
