The San Pedro Cancer Society held its general meeting on Monday, January 7, 2013, and the election of its new board for the year 2013 took place. After formal nominations and votes the San Pedro Cancer Society is proud to announce its new board which includes President – Miguel Perez, Vice-President – Dina Graniel, Treasurer – Gonzalo Muñoz, Secretary – Lucy Muñoz and Membership Chairperson – Penny Bonilla.
Outgoing president Gonzalo Muñoz expresses his gratitude to all members and the entire community of San Pedro for helping and supporting the Cancer Society during his presidency and asks for the same support for this coming year so that the group can continue helping cancer patients in need.
The Cancer Society is in full swing for this year and is preparing for the World Cancer Awareness Day Walk which will take place on Monday, February 4, 2013. The entire community is invited to attend and T-shirts will be on sale for that day. For orders and information feel free to contact members of the Cancer Society.
The second fundraising event is a big raffle of 11 great items; drawing date is scheduled for Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. Tickets are being sold for $2.00 each or a booklet for $20.00 and can be bought from any member.
