A group of 11 dentistry students, along with their mentors, were on the island to provide their dentistry service to students and parents of New Horizons Seventh Day Adventist School, including to residents of the island.
Dr. David Brodeur is the head of the group and has been coming to the island for over ten years bringing students to render dentistry services to the community. Dr. Brodeur is accompanied by Dr. Scott Smith, Instructor at Loma Linda University and Dr. Clark Bassham, Graduate of LLU who currently practices dentistry in Alaska. The group also consists of six senior dental students and two senior hygiene students.

The students are from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry a Seventh-day Adventist educational health-sciences institution located in Southern California; not only have they offered their services here in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, but to other parts of the world as well. Their services included cleaning, filling and extracting. They will also be offering their services to residents of Caye Caulker on Monday, June 24, 2013.
