It was Casa Picasso’s creativity, presentation and of course flavorful food that not only garnered the restaurant the Best Dish, but also the Best Drink at San Pedro’s Lobster Festival Block Party that took place on Saturday, June 22, 2013.
Casa Picasso was one of 13 other restaurants and businesses that set up booths at Central Park San Pedro to serve fantastic lobster dishes created especially for Lobster Fest. It was their delicious and creamy Lobster Cannoli and mouth watering Watermelon Cooler infused with basil and ginger that took the judges’ taste buds on a tailspin and winning them both top prizes. Casa Picasso was also serving a buttery-bunned Lobster Slider and a rich Lobster Bisque; they ran out of food pretty quickly.

Six judges had the fun, difficult and delicious task of selecting the best lobster dish and drink during Lobster Fest. Pineapples Restaurant of Ramon’s Village served up a spicy Bacon Wrapped Lobster and was the only restaurant to create a lobster infused cocktail; they created a Lobster Bloody Mary. DJ’s Bar and Grill created a delicious surf and turf Lobster Burger mixed with Pork and served on a homemade bun; Feliz Bar had a kicking Feliz Shot cocktail; O Restaurant of Las Terrazas served an amazing Lobster Bratworst and a superb Coconut/Mango Mojito; Jambel Jerkpit impressed with a delicious Lobster Fritter; Caliente Restaurant brought forth a creamy Lobster Dip and tasty Lobster Tacos.
And that was just the tip of the iceberg; other lobster dishes included: Lobster Ravioli, Curry Lobster Sliders, Lobster Bites, Lobster Kebabs, Lobster Bruschetta, Lobster Pizza, Grilled Lobster Tail, Lobster Wraps and Lobster Chowder.

The San Pedro Lobster Fest is the biggest lobster festival in the country with eight scheduled days of activities that include dining at selected restaurants that offer lobster specials and entertainment, a Lobster Crawl to various businesses and restaurants and lobster treasure hunts. It all culminates with a HUGE bang at the Lobster Fest Block Party. Entertainment at the block party included Fire Dancer Lara, the steel band Panerrifix, rock and roll music by What You Wanna Hear and Punta Rock Belize’s superstar Supa G!
