Six beauty contestants were in full bloom as they took center stage on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at the Miss San Pedro Beauty Pageant. Michelle Estrella Nuñez, Miss Ramon’s Village, was selected as the new Miss San Pedro 2014-2015.
The pageant ignited with a group dance performed by the six contestants accompanied by outgoing Miss San Pedro 2013 Solani Graniel; the energetic performance set the mood for the show. The pageant then immediately flowed into the costume segment where the beautiful girls modeled in fantastic animal inspired costumes that included the seagull, seahorse, blue morpho butterfly, hummingbird, green iguana and the whitetail deer, all native animals to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize.
Opening Group Performance
Once the pageant commenced, there was continuous cheering and rapturous expression of joy from the audience in support of all the contestants. Entertainment during the night included well choreographed dances by the San Pedro Dance Academy and video highlights of the contestants and interviews with past Miss San Pedro Queens.
The ladies did a wonderful job modeling in their swimsuits and then showed grace, poise and elegance in their beautiful even gowns followed by the question and answer segment. Just before the announcement of the winners, Michelle Nuñez was presented with an award from Hotel Los Cocos in Chetumal, Mexico entitled “Linda San Pedrana”. During their trip to Chetumal City, the contestants were hosted at Los Cocos Hotel and they presented this award to the young lady who impressed the staff and management the most.
Cultural Costume Competition
The Miss Photogenic prize was awarded to Ileny Aguilar, while Doris Soriano was voted Miss Congeniality who also placed first runner up in the competition. The crowd went wild as Miss Ramon’s Village, Michelle Estrella Nuñez was introduced as the new Miss San Pedro. Official crowning will take place on Wednesday, September 10, 2014.
