Machel Montano, Trinidadian soca singer, record producer and songwriter, was in Belize from September 17 to September 22 as the Headliner for Belize’s first ever Soca and Jazz Festival. The festival proved to be one of the most attended events in Belize. Machel proved to be a huge hit during the festival; one to remember.
During his stay in Belize Machel had the opportunity to visit many popular spots of the country and he was very happy to share pictures and videos on is Instagram account. He obviously had a great time and Belize made a big impact on him. Tour company Chukka Belize assisted the organizers with sponsorship of transfers and tours for Machel and his group.
Montano had visited Belize about 20 years ago and fell in love with the country, so this time around he took the opportunity to visit and explore more despite his busy schedule.
His travels took him to the Mayan Site of Altun Ha, where he marveled at the beauty of the ancient Maya, snorkeled with Sharks at Hol Chan & Shark Ray Alley, zipped and dipped through the forests and Crystal Cave at Jaguar Paw Outpost Location – and like his famous song, he certainly was “The Happiest Man Alive” after his visits in Belize with Chukka!

Machel Montano was also in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, where we caught him dining at Elvi’s Kitchen, going to swim with the sharks and rays via Searious Adventures and accommodated at Ramon’s Village Resort.
“Thank you for the knowledge and for sharing the culture. I loved the fact that everybody in Chukka was comprehensive about the nation, the trees, the soil, the fruits, the sites and history. I swam with the sharks, ziplined and tubed through one of the best caves in the world,” said Montano.
“However the most exciting and best part about the Chukka crew was how comfortable, calm, easy going and friendly they were, like we knew each other for years. We make good friends and we stay good friends and we’ll keep coming back again and again. Respect”
Chukka says that it was proud to have assisted him and his crew while in Belize and look forward to his next visit.
