Tiburon Rum of Belize Making Waves Internationally Arrives in Belize

In just its first year of being out in the US Market, Tiburon Rum is making waves across that nation with now having won nine major awards. Tiburon Rum was being only marketed as ‘The Spirit of Belize’ in the United States of America, but now it has finally arrived in Belize for the country to experience the flavor and buzz of the world class rum that comes from the country’s very own Travellers Liquors.

Tiburon Rum is a hand crafted, double-aged, premium rum, from the old Perdomo family of Belize who own Travellers Liquors. Basil DeStefano, a Belize resident and rum lover, has joined with Travellers Liquors, to create Tiburon Rum. Small-batch rums of various ages are re-casked by Master Blenders into Kentucky Oak Bourbon Barrels for the ‘second maturation’.

Tiburon Rum was recently available only in the United States, including Illinois, New Hampshire, Georgia, Texas, California and Florida, but now it has made its way into Belize and even the UK! Just last week Tiburon Rum was brought to Belize and bottled at Travellers Liquors Distillery for distribution around the country.

Only 100 cases were distributed country-wide, with 30 of them delivered to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye over the weekend. Representative at Travellers’ distribution center in San Pedro says the bottles are moving fast and we can only assume the same goes at Travellers distribution centers around the country.

Basil DeStefano has being doing an amazing job at marketing the Tiburon Rum at trade shows around USA, but says that the rum speaks for itself. Its great taste has been very well received and garnered the rum nine awards to date. The awards include:

But DeStefano is not only marketing his Tiburon Rum everywhere he goes in the US; he is also promoting the great nation of Belize which he has fallen in love with. Belize is getting great recognition and promotion along with the Tiburon Rum.
