Nomination Day was held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, in the heels of the upcoming Town Council Elections. All three political parties presented their candidates who were officially nominated to run for a seat at the Town Council elections on March 4, 2015.
With the nominations taking place, the San Pedro Town Council has officially been dissolved, which means that no new transactions or projects can be taken by the councilors until after elections. The Town Council is only to work on the daily routines that keep the town running. Municipal elections are set for Wednesday, March 4, 2015 and the polling station will be #37 – the San Pedro High School.
The People’s United Party (PUP) hit the streets around 10a.m. and paraded through the streets to downtown San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, and down to the Town Hall where members of the Elections and Boundaries officiated the nominations.
