The purpose of the meeting was to review performance over the first six months of 2015 and agree on strategies for the second half of the year. During the meeting the recently appointed commanders of the three new regions in the Belize District expressed to the Minister their endorsement of the new organizational strategy and their expectation that the new arrangement will produce the desired results.

Decisions were also made to establish a formation for the villages in Cayo South separate from the Belmopan formation and a formation for the villages of Hopkins, Sittee River, Kendal, and Silk Grass separate from the Dangriga formation. Both new formations will now have a separate Officer in Charge answerable to the Regional Commander Western and South, respectively.

The meeting also noted a shift in the murder trend towards domestic and personal conflict as the motive for recent murders and a strategy has been adopted to address this rise in domestic abuse and personal conflict resulting in death.
