Hundreds Participate in Light The Night For Kids with Disabilities

The 2nd Annual Light the Night for Kids was held on Friday, September 4, 2015, in Belize City. Hundreds of Belizeans, including families, students and corporate groups came together in support of The Inspiration Center and Belize’s children with disabilities.

Equipped with glow in the dark t-shirts and accessories, the participants walked and danced through the main streets of Belize City and ended at the Memorial Park, where the festivities finished with a fireworks display. While this event aims to raise funds for The Inspiration Center, it also promotes healthy and active lifestyles while providing a family friendly atmosphere for a fun night out.

The organizers of Light the Night for Kids wish to thank all sponsors who contributed either financially or logistically, as well as those companies and schools that brought out groups to participate. Global Ambassador for Special Olympics and Chair of The Inspiration Center, Mrs. Kim Simplis Barrow, expressed that “the outpouring of support showcased the public’s awareness of children living with varying disabilities and underscores their civic duty to celebrate them”.

The Inspiration Center is an outpatient rehabilitation center which provides, physical and speech therapy, community based rehabilitation, basic medical services and social support for the holistic care of children with disabilities and their families.
