The International Costa Maya Festival Committee hereby informs the general public that due to the damages caused by hurricane Earl, the Costa Maya Festival events previously scheduled for this week-end, has been cancelled. Based on the current conditions across the country of Belize and considering that Belizean families are now forced to address their personal matters with urgency, the festival cannot be entertained this weekend.
As a result the pageant delegates will leave Belize today to head back home and the Festival Committee has informed the international artists to hold off in travel due to the current conditions in Belize. The Costa Maya Festival Committee regrets the inconvenience caused by this situation but must be cognizant of the situation faced by Belizeans following the damages caused by hurricane Earl.
Costa Maya Festival already paid for the mechanical rides so they are being provided free of cost all weekend long. Thank you Costa Maya!
The Miss Costa Maya Pageant Delegates leave today, but not without thanking all the community and businesses for their warm hospitality. Although there was no pageant to select this year’s Costa Maya Queen, they had an amazing Belizean experience and said they will take back home wonderful memories of Belize. Pictured above are the delegates on board the YOLO of Ilsnd Dream Tours as they left for their day trip to Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Caye Caulker and below they are joined by Mrs. Elvia Staines and Chef Jennie Staines of Elvi’s Kitchen during the restaurant’s Mayan Buffet. These were a couple of the delegates last experiences on Ambergris Caye before leaving.
