Minister of State for National Emergency Management Hon. Edmond Castro has met with National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) co-ordinators in Rural Belize District to assess the progress of the recovery and rebuilding efforts for victims of Hurricane Earl, which made landfall in Belize exactly two months ago on August 4, 2016.

The rebuilding efforts have included construction of homes and assistance with material for needed repairs such as lumber and zinc. In the Belize District, material has been distributed from the NEMO Office and Warehouse on the Phillip Goldson Highway near the Burrell Boom Junction, with loading, transportation and offloading assistance by the Belize Defence Force.
