New NEMO Office and Coordinator for Belize Rural South

As part of preparations for the upcoming Hurricane Season, the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) has relocated to a new office in San Pedro Town on the island of Ambergris Caye.

The new office is located in a central area just opposite the San Pedro Airport, on the second floor of a building that houses Wings San Pedro Department and Furniture Store on Coconut Drive. Also, a new NEMO Coordinator – Ms. Vanessa Parham – has been assigned to Belize Rural South which includes Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker.

Yesterday – Monday, April 10th – Minister of Transport and NEMO Hon. Edmond Castro was in San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye for the opening of the new office. He was accompanied by Ms. Ruth Meighan, CEO in the Ministry; Mr. Al Westby, Regional Coordinator for Belize and Cayo Districts; and Ms. Shereen Reyes, NEMO Logistics Officer. Also present was Mr. Jorge Aldana, local San Pedro Town Council Operations Officer.




The Ministry is fine-tuning their operations in preparation for the new Hurricane Season which starts on June 1st, 2017.
