Congratulations are on hand for El Pescador in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize that was recently awarded with the Orvis Endorsed Lodge of the Year for excellence in the Fly Fishing Industry. Nominated for 2017 Saltwater Fly-Fishing Guide of the Year was local guide Carlos ‘Kechu’ Marin.
The winners of this year’s coveted awards were announced at a ceremony during the 2017 Orvis Guide Rendezvous in Missoula, Montana, on April 28. On hand to accept the award for Lodge of the Year was Ali Gentry Flota of El Pescador, who was accompanied by Carlos Marin and wife Lucy Marin.
“I am very proud and excited to have El Pescador be honored as the Orvis Endorsed International Lodge of the year again,” commented Ali on a Facebook post. “While I was lucky enough to accept the award last night with Captain Kechu, we accepted it on behalf of all the staff and all the guides who work so tirelessly and bring such excitement and love to their job every day. A special thank you to our wonderful guests. Without you none of this would be possible. We love being a part of your cherished vacation time. Thank you all.”
