The Belize Canoe Association (BCA) is trying to develop the sport of kayak alongside the country’s traditional canoeing. On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, the BCA sent four athletes – namely Avis Guydis (female), Chris Guydis, Bayron Cruz and Brandon Lind – to Guatemala City for a kayak competition.
This competition is called the Copa CentroAmericana and it is a regional event for Caribbean and Central American countries being hosted by the Guatemalan Canoe/Kayak Federation to build the sport in this region.
The Belize team will compete in the different heats for K1 and K2 on July 7-9 and return home on July 10th. We wish the Belize team all the best.
