TEDxBelmopan to Celebrate Ideas in 2017

After a successful first event in 2015, the TEDxBelmopan team is delighted to announce that it will be hosting its second TEDxBelmopan conference on Saturday, September 30th, 2017 in Belmopan. For this year’s conference, the platform is “CELEBRATE!”, aimed at highlighting positive developments, stories, and ideas worth spreading in Belize.

TEDxBelmopan 2017 event will celebrate the achievements of Belizeans – thinkers, visionaries and the most fascinating teachers, young and old – while providing a cross-disciplinary platform where they can inspire and share their narratives.

TEDxBelmopan is a local, independently organized event licensed by TED that provides a platform for the world’s leading thinkers and doers to congregate and share what they are most passionate about. At its core, the fundamental goal of TED is to foster and spread great ideas.

With the support of volunteers and the generosity of local community partners, TEDxBelmopan was able to accomplish a highly successful event. The inaugural event, which featured five speakers, namely Janelle Chanona, Kalilah Enriquez, Yasser Musa, Tony Rath and Lisa Shoman, saw the attendance of 80 participants from across the country. Talks encompassed the event theme of Changing the Conversation and included ideas on art, media and photography, the environment, and women. Our 2015 TEDx talks are available at videos.

TEDxBelmopan is an invitation-only event, which means spaces are secured by applying to attend our 2017 event at . Spaces are free and limited as there are only 100 available seats (as stipulated by our TEDx license) for this event.
