Ministers Patrick Faber and Godwin Hulse Safe After Plane Crash in Placencia

This morning at approximately 8:45 am, Acting Prime Minister Hon. Patrick Faber along with Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, the Environment and Sustainable Development and Immigration Hon. Godwin Hulse were en route to Punta Gorda Town via a Tropic Air flight.

Upon takeoff from the Placencia Airstrip, the left landing wheel made contact with a passing vehicle that had managed to bypass one of the lowered barriers. The impact caused the Tropic Air vessel to plunge into the sea right off the coast of Placencia not far from the airstrip. A rescue team was sent out and all seven passengers and three Tropic Air crew membes onboard the plane were transported safely back to land. Preliminarily, there are no reports of any sustained injuries.

“I’m safe guys… all passengers of the tropic flight survived after crashing into the sea …Rescued at sea of the shore of Placencia… on our beautiful Belizean soil again!” stated Hon. Patrick Faber on a Facebook Post.
