“Children of Today; Our Keepers of Tomorrow” – Under this theme Children’s Day 2017 was celebrated in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize, with schools organizing a week full of activities for children to have fun with their peers and parents.
To kick off the week of activities, at the San Pedro Roman Catholic School, they held a Skipping Rope Day where all of the children had to participate in this fun-filled activity. Parents were invited to do arts and crafts such as piggy banks, cute monsters, clothes pin arts and Christmas decorations along with the children. They also part took in games that had them laughing all afternoon long as their inner child came out. Lime and Spoon, Sack Race and Balloon Toss were just some of the games students, teachers and students played.
Crazy Hair Day was another fun activity that preschools and the primary schools held so that the children could express their creativity. On Friday, November 17, 2017, a parade was held and children dressed up in the different culture groups of Belize, Heroes of Belize, Shapes, Colors, Super Heroes, among others.
To end the celebration of our children, the San Pedro Roman Catholic Church held a special mass in honor of all the children in San Pedro and hosted a party at the Lions Den where children were given treats and had fun with special performance by Ozzy the Clown.
Happy Children’s Day to all the children in our beautiful community; you are all special and loved.
