On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hugo Martínez, awarded the former Ambassador of Belize in El Salvador, Her Excellency Mrs. Celie Paz Marín, on behalf of the President of the Republic of El Salvador, Salvador Sánchez Cerén.
Celi was awarded with “La Orden Nacional “José Matías Delgado” en el Grado de Gran Cruz Placa de Plata”, a recognition given to her for her great contribution in strengthening bilateral, political and cooperation relations between Belize and El Salvador.
“I receive this recognition with great pride and as a sign of the work done on behalf of our peoples,” stated Celi. She expressed her sincere gratitude towards the Government of El Salvador for all their support in developing a healthy relationship between the two countries.
“I am truly honored and extremely happy to have been given this award by the Government of El Salvador,” commented Celi Paz to Ambergris Today. “This is a very important and prestigious award that very few diplomats receive and I am very grateful for it.”
Present at the award ceremony was El Salavador’s Bishop Leon Kalenga, diplomats and several invited guests. Congratulations to Mrs. Celi Paz Marin on receiving such prestigious award.
