Cable Price Going Up Too in Belize!!!

You read that correctly, cable price is going up as well! Cable providers countrywide are advising their customers that there will be an increase in cable price effective June 1, 2018.

In a press release sent out by the Belize Cable Television Operators Association (BCTOA) it states that it has been agreed by the member cable operators that the new rate for a basic cable package with a minimum of eighty (80) stations will be BZ$60.00 inclusive of General Sales Tax. This increase will come into effect as of June 1, 2018. Cable package sizes and offerings will vary by operator.

The BCTVOA has been entering copyright licensing agreements with programmers for authorized feeds, content and special add-ons. These agreements and the required payment for content are necessary and urgent to boost Belize’s reputation globally for respecting intellectual property.  Although the licensed content from programmers comes at an added cost to the cable operators and the subscribers, the cost of maintaining the status quo would be much greater to the country as a whole.

Here in San Pedro this means an increase of $16 to your existing cable bill of $44. New cost will be $60 inclusive of General Sales Tax across the country. Coral Cable Vision has different packages to offer, you can feel free to give them a call at 226-3318 or pay them a visit at their office located on Pescador Drive.
