It has come to the attention of the Elections and Boundaries Department that there are individuals impersonating Staff of Elections and Boundaries Department who are visiting residents to obtain information.
The public is advised that all staff of the Elections and Boundaries Department is issued with valid Staff Identification Cards. The public does have a right to request such an identification card prior to providing any information.
By law, Elections and Boundaries Officers are required to conduct investigations into applications for registration as electors. However, at all times officers are to visibly display their identification card when conducting investigations or transactions on behalf of the Department.
The public is also advised to be on the lookout for suspicious individuals who may be impersonating the staff of the Department, especially during this ongoing re-registration of electors exercise, where officers are conducting field investigations.
Any such suspicious persons should be immediately reported to the nearest Police Station.
