SPTC Plants Mahogany Trees at Schools

September Celebrations are in full swing and the San Pedro Town Council set out on Friday, September 7, 2018 to plant Belize’s National Tree at school compounds throughout the island.

Mahogany tree saplings were planted in schools and parks by students, teachers and principals as part of the patriotic celebrations. Students were given a brief summary of the importance of patriotism and quick facts about the Mahogany Tree.

Prayers for good blessings were recited and the National Anthem of Belize was sung as part of the planting ceremony. It will be the students and school’s responsibility to take care of their Mahogany trees, to water and nurture it. Happy September Celebrations to All!
