It took us most of the morning to ‘kinda’ get a grasp of all the merchandise carried by the new Mirab Department Store that held its grand opening today, October 10, 2018, in Belize City. We still have to go back to spend more time browsing and shopping. It’s a first of its kind for Belize with a great ‘shopping mall’ feel to the store. It’s HUGE! It’s ELEGANT! It’s ‘Three stories of retail therapy’, says Mirab.
The Bou-Nahra family made a bold move in launching Belize’s first high end shopping experience, a state of the art department store located 1.5 Miles on the Philip Goldson Highway. Ambergris Today and other invited media reps of Belize City were treated to a first look of the store half an hour before the doors opened to the public.
We were given a run-down of the new store and met the personas of their advertising campaigns. The new Mirab has:

Customers walked down the red carpet where they were photographed and then guided to view a Special presentation to welcome them as guests. Every customer received a Mirab gift with purchase, and many great savings via the door buster deals! They also had a chance to enter a raffle to WIN 2 Free American Airline Tickets to fly to the U.S., Caribbean or Canada.
“We are thrilled to have launched our new store today with an improved brand and image! We are excited that so many of our customers took the time out of a busy weekday to show appreciation for what we’ve done for them. This is our gift to Belize and Belizeans, ” says Michael Bou-Nahra, a Director in the company.
Mirab says the company’s new slogan, Welcome Home, caters to pedestrians, bicycle riders, drivers and bus passengers with parking and the designer bus stop known as the Welcome Center. Large comfortable chairs exist throughout the store as well as selfie spots for you to photograph yourself and #newmirab store to win prizes.
Everyone is invited to be a guest, children, teens and adults of all ages can’t get enough of the 100,000 sq. ft. of retail therapy which boasts a new baby section, a larger pet area, a candy store, a resort and amenities section, new brands, inspirational vignettes and their cherished Mirab dancer.
The Ashley Furniture Home Store will be located on the third floor and is expected to open November 2018 while the Mirab Furniture Gallery on the George price Highway remains open to display the alternate brands you have come to know and love as well as some Ashley items inclusive of full office furniture.
