Belize Ministry of Health Signs Cooperation Agreements with Cuba and Taiwan

A cooperation agreement was signed on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Public Health, Republic of Cuba. The agreement signed was towards agreeing on terms of the medical brigade program to continue in the strengthening and development of the health system in Belize.

The medical brigade includes medical doctors, medical specialists, nurses and all other healthcare personnel at the request of the Belizean government. Contributing remarks were provided by the Minister of Health, Hon. Pablo Marin and the Ambassador of Cuba to Belize H.E. Lissette Perez Perez.

The Minister of Health, Hon. Pablo Marin also signed a letter of Intent on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, in Belmopan with the Deputy Superintendent of the Chi Mei Hospital, Taiwan, Dr. Yu-Feng Tian. The objective is to initiate a relationship to engage in the advancement of medical care and medical technology exchange.

The Minister expressed his appreciation for the new cooperation opportunity and he pledged his commitment to work with them for the benefit of both countries.
