Yeka Rosales Entertains Moms at Mother’s Day Spectacular

The highlight of the San Pedro Town Council’s Mothers’ Day Program on Sunday, May 12, 2019 was the performance of Yeka Rosalez from the comedic show “La Parodia” all the way from Mexico but the participation of the mothers on stage also made for great entertainment.

Yeka Rosales had everybody laughing she cracked joke after joke with a non-stop performance and imitation of some of Mexico’s top artists such as Alejandra Guzman, Ana Gabriel, Laura Leon, Paulina Rubio and Gloria Trevi. She danced, sang and had fun interaction with the audience. She really showed her love for San Pedro and expressed her joy of having the opportunity to entertain all the mothers at the show.

The other major highlight of the night was the selection of Mother of the Year. This honor was bestowed to Eli Ochaeta mother of eleven children. She was crowned by Mother of the Year 2018 Mrs. Martha Badillo, along with Miss San Pedro Chelsea Munoz. Mayor Daniel Guerrero and Hon. Heredia were also on hand to congratulate her and she was presented with a bouquet of flowers and other gifts.

During the special evening on Sunday, mothers in attendance were also treated to a gourmet turkey dinner, delicious dessert and complimentary drink. Other highlight of the evening was singing performances by Rick Pech.

As the evening progressed, the Town Council gave away gifts in the form of raffles and prizes which were donated to the San Pedro Town Council by the many businesses and individuals of the island, included dinners at top restaurants, gift certificates from gift shops, juicers, kitchen appliances and a bicycle, amongst others.

It was indeed a great night as hundreds of mothers who attended the evening’s gala left with large smiles across their faces. The event organizers did a wonderful job, and so did the many talented artists, both local and international, who provided a spectacular evening of shows for our deserving mothers.
