San Pedro celebrated its 13th Lobster Festival on Saturday, June 22, 2019, with record-breaking attendance. After only a week from the opening of the lobster season, restaurants from around the island gathered at Central Park to showcase their best lobster dish and best drink.
The aroma of great food was in the air luring many to this year’s Lobsterfest. It was definitely the place to find the best lobster dishes from the best restaurants in town. With no time to waste, and as the crowd got bigger, judges sampled all the decadent lobster servings and refreshing drinks. Pleasing the judges pallets the most, Sandbar Beachfront Hostel & Restaurant and Nook Restaurant & Cocktail Bartique were awarded with Best Lobster dish and Best Drink of the evening, respectively.
Plenty of eating, drinking, laughing and dancing all night long to the beat of the Panerrifix Steel Band, Kicking off the festival just right was the popular music stylings of the Panerrifix steel band which got the crowd cheering and dancing to their favorite Caribbean tunes. Drawing a a large dance crowd was one of Belize’s most popular bands, Gilharry 7, who took on the night performing great hits.
