Ministry of Tourism & Civil Aviation Receive International Certification for Quality Management

Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation is First Government Ministry to Achieve ISO 9001:2015 Certification

On July 24, 2019 the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (MTCA) received notification from its Certification Agent in Jamaica (National Certification Body of Jamaica), that effective July 18, 2019 the MTCA has been approved for Certification under the International Organization for Standardization’s 9001-2015 Standard (ISO 9001-2015).

This makes the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation the first Government Ministry of Belize to have achieved this coveted international certification in Quality Management. After a rigorous two years of work in developing and implementing a Quality Management System at the Ministry, we congratulate all our staff at the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation for their sacrifice, hard-work and leadership in integrating these principles within organization’s culture and operations. We also extend our gratitude to the Belize Bureau of Standards for its guidance over these couple of years in promoting and instilling the importance of quality management and standards within our organization. We also thank and look forward to engaging with all our stakeholders, which this standard is focused on primarily, for their unwavering support and collaboration.

The ISO 9001:2015 is an internationally recognized set of standards that promotes global bet practices in quality management, customer service and risk management within organizations. The standards provide guidance and tools for companies and organizations who want to ensure that their products and services are consistent, meet customer requirements and are continuously being improved to meet customer needs.
