More Guns Off the Streets of San Pedro

In keeping its word of having a safer community, San Pedro Police have been conducting more patrols throughout the island and have successfully been catching up with individuals who have firearms without proper licenses.

On Saturday, December 28th, 2019, at about 2:55 p.m., while Police were conducting mobile patrol on Barrier Reef Drive, San Pedro Town, their attention was drawn to a male person who was riding a red beach cruiser bicycle and acting suspiciously.

As a result, officers conducted a search on the individual, which resulted in the discovery of a brown cartoon that contained (1) .38 revolver with wooden handle, and (26) live .38 rounds of ammunition. The male person was identified as Justin Shamir Velasquez, 21-year-old, Belizean unemployed of San Mateo area, San Pedro Town. Velasquez was arrested and charged for the crime of Keeping Firearm and Ammunition without a gun license.
