Belmopan. April 10, 2020. 6:25 a.m. – As reports come out from the Ministry of Health confirming a 10th positive case for COVID-19 in Belize last night, an update this morning from the KHMH indicates that patient #10 has died. The confirmation test came out positive late last night (April 9th). This was from a set of 30 samples tested, some of which were from frontline workers as part of routine surveillance.
Reports are that the patient was being treated for pneumonia at the private facility and was later transferred to the KHMH, Belize City in an induced coma on Tuesday. Media reports from the city indicate that at least two other patients were at the ICU and that staff may have been exposed to the deadly virus.
