Belize Tourism Rebounding, Future Looking Positive

The latest statistics for both overnight tourist arrivals and cruise tourism from the Belize Tourism Board provide a clear indication that Belize’s tourism is moving fast on its path to recovery. According to their latest press release, this year’s quarterly figures show that overnight tourist arrivals to Belize totaled over 41,000, the largest number of overnight visitors recorded in a month since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Traditionally, March has been the peak of the tourism high season (Pre-Covid). With the steady growth in the first quarter, the outlook remains positive as Belize’s tourism industry rebounds.

Cruise Ship Passenger Arrivals breakdown:
Meanwhile, for the first quarter of 2022, there were a total of 48 cruise ship calls with over 93,000 cruise passengers arriving in Belize. The total includes cruise arrivals from both cruise ports, Fort Street Tourism Village (FSTV) and Harvest Caye.

The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) states that it remains committed to working in partnership with its local and international industry stakeholders – “Together, we will aggressively and effectively promote Belize as the leading tourism destination and achieve full recovery of the industry for the benefit of both Belizeans and visitors.”
